About the Job

We are looking for a head chef for Vegaköket who is passionate about cooking and service and wants to contribute to providing our elderly with delicious, well-prepared meals that form the basis for a great dining experience every day.

With us, you will lead the daily cooking team and ensure that every meal maintains high quality, from everyday lunches and dinners to desserts that add a special touch to the day. You will be in the thick of the work alongside your colleagues, cooks, and meal assistants, ready to support, inspire, and develop both individuals and the group as a whole.

You will work closely with the unit manager on many issues, where together you will drive the operations forward and develop the kitchen with the tenants in focus. The role also involves responsibility for menu planning, recipe management, ordering, budget monitoring, and self-control, but above all, creating a work environment where joy, quality, and service permeate everything you do.

At Vegaköket, we prepare lunch, dessert, and dinner from scratch for the tenants in the building and also send food to Änggårdsbacken's care and nursing homes within Centrum 4.

You will be part of a network of head chefs where you will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, find new ideas, and influence the development of meals in a broader context. There is room for creativity and the security of working in a close-knit team.

Your Responsibilities

• Daily operations in the kitchen (Cooking and staffing)
• Quality assurance of meals
• Menu planning and recipe management
• Ordering of food and goods as well as invoice management
• Self-control
• The kitchen's budget

About You

We are looking for someone who has

• Chef training or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Several years of experience as a cook and head chef in restaurants and large kitchens
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the position involves close collaboration with colleagues, staff, and diners

It is an advantage if you have

• Good computer skills and previous experience working with the dietary data program Matilda
• Good knowledge of special diets and texture-adapted diets

To succeed in the role of head chef with us, you need to take responsibility and be able to work independently. You should work in a structured manner and follow up to ensure that what you start is completed with good results. You have the ability to plan and organize work clearly, providing the group with the conditions to deliver meals of good quality.

You are confident in yourself and remain steady even in pressured situations. You can make well-founded decisions and maintain focus even when the pace is high. You have the ability to build relationships and create motivation and joy in the workplace around you.

Since you lead a team and work closely with many others, we appreciate a solution-focused approach to changes and that you are pedagogical in your way of leading and communicating. You show respect and a service mindset towards both colleagues and tenants, and you always keep the significance of meals for our elderly at the center.
